For over 20 years, Teen Esteem’s programs have provided students and parents with crucial information and powerful tools to navigate the daily challenges our children are facing.
In recent years we have seen a startling increase in the amount of young people in the Tri-Valley who are struggling with depression, anxiety and in some cases, suicide. Many times this is related to academic and performance-based pressures, social media, drug/alcohol and prescription drug abuse.
Sadly, based on statistics from our own 2015-16 school year survey, over 10% of students we presented to say they struggled with suicide “Sometimes” or “Often”. No child or family is immune from these issues; Teen Esteem is here to help.
Last year alone we were able to reach 10,302 children and 2,097 adults while logging nearly 800 volunteer hours through the generosity of companies like yours and events such as these.
What Students are Saying
Over 90% of students we surveyed said that Teen Esteem’s presentation gave them tools that will make a difference in their lives!
“Touching on the topic of suicide helped me so much. I'm so grateful I'm still here to have heard the presentation. It kept me engaged and made me want to change my life around. I'm so glad I got to hear this. I can't even put into words how much it helped me. Thank you so much. I don't want to struggle anymore.”
